This Day in History: 1975-02-08
Fire swept through part of Harwich town Railway station at the weekend sending flames scorching across a platform. About a fifth of the main station’s building and its contents was severely damaged by Saturday afternoon’s blaze, but no one was injured. Arson has been ruled out. It is believed the fire was started after a lamp was left burning.
