S.S. Empire Parkeston arrived at Parkeston Quay after overhaul and
conversion to a trooper. She had been built at Cammell Laird in 1930 as
Prince Henry. Empire Parkeston’s only break from Harwich was in 1957
when she sailed from Cardiff to Hook of Holland.
