This Day in History: 1940-09-02
A flying bomb fell early in the morning but no one was injured and very little damage was caused. The bomb crashed into a field on the outskirts of the town within thirty yards of a searchlight crew and a blast brought down a ceiling in a neighbouring farmhouse.
