This Day in History: 1891-11-19
A Steamer carrying barley to Mistley sank in
Harwich Harbour. The steamer had stopped at Harwich after it was discovered one
of the crew was suffering from smallpox. The vessel was disinfected, when
they tried to set sail they found the anchor had plunged through the bottom.
