This Day in History: 1931-11-23
Two shops in King’s Head Street, Harwich were gutted in a fierce blaze. The shops, one a butcher’s and one a clothes shop, were built mainly from wood. The Harwich fire brigade managed to prevent the blaze spreading to other premises.
