A Familiar site for many years the 28 year old steamer “Duke of York” left Harwich for the last time. Now named York of Monrovia, the vessel was sold by British Railways to a Greek firm for Mediterranean cruises. She left Harwich at 6 a.m. for North Shields before setting off for her journey into the sun.
