A Dovercourt man who claimed he saved the life of the then Prime Minister Winston Churchill, was sent a book personally signed by him. Ralph Creasey of Lee Road, said he had ridden into “No Man’s Land” and brought back Mr Churchill during the Boer War in 1900.
