This Day in History: 1917-04-14
The most serious outbreak of fire that had occurred at Dovercourt during the last 4 or 5 years when the old Phoenix Hotel burn to the ground, occurrred on Thursday afternoon in Cliff Road. A block of three large four storey houses where on fire, the upper portion was totaly wrecked.
