This Day in History: 1925-06-26
Children playing on the beach at Dovercourt saw a young woman clinging to the piles near the old jetty, screaming for help. The children raised an alarm, and three men went to rescue, for a time she declined release her hold of the piles, but eventually she did. She was taken to the local police station where she was taken care of for the night.
