After a long and useful life spent in service, Harwich’s famous old Treadmill crane has been moved from the defunct Naval Yard, and is to spend the remainder of its days in well-earned retirement on Harwich Green.
In its new position the crane should be quite an attraction serving to remind the younger generation of the part Harwich has played in the naval history of England.
